Our Tuning System

The tuning system we have developed for our drums consists of an adjustable wooden ring which is moved against the skin.

This gives the player complete control over the tension of the skin, which can vary due to location, temperature etc.

The ring is adjusted using a series of hexagon-headed screws set in wooden blocks attached to the inside of the frame.

We favour wooden blocks (rather than metal carriers) as it is more in keeping with the spirit of our drums.
